About

Born and raised in Haifa, Israel. Haya Heller Degani discovered glass after working many years in the education field. She received her PHD from Tel Aviv University in 2003. Her doctoral thesis was written about HomeSchooling in Israel. She lived for five years in Italy and in Mexico, places that are sources of inspiration for her works.

Haya draws her inspiration from the different cultures she has known in her travels, from the stories, the legends, the characters she has met, the magical landscapes. She found the glass castings and the lost wax method extremely interesting, allowing her to create three-dimensional pieces that reflect her inner world.
